B2B Average AE compensation is on the rise (2020)
Median on-target earnings are $132K with a 50:50 (base:variable) split.
Continuing a decade long trend, median OTE rose to record highs in 2020. While quotas have increased 3% compounded annually, OTEs have nearly doubled that pace (5%+ CAGR).
It’s hard to overstate just how much SaaS compensation is driving up these figures. Excluding SaaS companies, median OTE falls to $120K.
